The New Single: I Cut Like A Buffalo
Is released on the 26th October 2009
The Dead Weather announce the new Jack White directed music video for the dark, organ-infused track “I Cut Like A Buffalo.” Shot entirely in the Third Man headquarters in Nashville, TN, “I Cut Like A Buffalo” is available now.

Steeped in strong colours juxtaposed with high contrast, moody, black and white footage, “I Cut Like A Buffalo,” is as provocative as it is stylistically eccentric. White helms the director’s chair to create a metaphorical visual to accompany this rich and sonically deep song.
The dirge rock four-piece, consisting of celebrated musicians Dean Fertita (Queens Of The Stone Age), “Little” Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, The Greenhornes), Alison Mosshart (The Kills) & Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs), continue to storm their way through the year, churning up legions of new fans in the wake of their debut release Horehound. The new music video for “I Cut Like A Buffalo” is the next natural step for an album that strives to keep as interesting visually as it is aurally, and for a band that is continually receiving critical acclaim for their unique, stimulating aesthetic - captured both in their gritty rock & blues sound, as well as their spirited live performances.
The first record to be recorded and released via Jack White’s new Third Man studios and record label in Nashville, TN, Horehound was made available through Third Man/Columbia Records on July 13th 2009.
“I Cut Like A Buffalo,” is the The Dead Weather’s second video release from Horehound, following the band’s cinematic debut with their Jonathan Glazer directed short for “Treat Me Like Your Mother,”
The Dead Weather return to the UK this month for a full tour. These dates come hot on the heels of the release of their highly acclaimed debut album Horehound on Third Man/Columbia Records and the handful of explosive sold-out & secret shows that they played earlier this summer. The Dead Weather have quickly carved out a reputation as one of today’s best live rock’n’roll bands and are currently tearing up and leaving town after town in their wake on their current US headline tour.
